Mixed signals from Rams' headquarters

Jim Thomas, Rams beat writer for the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, supposedly said in an interview on Friday that the Rams are considering 3 players very strongly with their #2 overall pick. According to what was said in the interview (which I did not hear but read a report about) head coach Scott Linehan favors Virginia defensive end Chris Long, new offensive coordinator Al Saunders wants Michigan offensive tackle Jake Long, and defensive coordinator Jim Haslett would like LSU defensive tackle Glenn Dorsey. There have been a few hints that the Rams were very pleased with Dorsey's recent workout and are pretty much convinced his past injuries (including a stress fracture in one of his legs) will not effect his performance or become chronic problems. If healthy, Dorsey is probably the best overall player in the draft. And while the Rams desperately need a pass rushing defensive end, a healthy Dorsey may just be too good to pass up. Again, until the Dolphins pick is known everything is just speculation. But that's what makes the draft so interesting to me.
