Huge draft development

The Miami Dolphins have apparently agreed to terms with Michigan offensive tackle Jake Long and will select him with the first pick of the draft. The Rams were said to have J. Long #1 on their board too, so he is off the table now and the Rams will have to look elsewhere. This is excellent news, in my opinion. The Rams will be better off getting a defensive playmaker. Chris Long (DE, Virginia), Glenn Dorsey (DT, LSU) and Vernon Gholston (DE, Ohio St.) would all be excellent choices. Each would bring something unique to the Rams defense. I like all three, in the order I listed them above. Barring an unforeseen trade down, the Rams defense should be nicely improved by about 2:15 PM on Saturday.
